KYOCERA Document Solutions UK partners with ArtSystems, adding MakerBot 3D devices to its portfolio

KYOCERA Document Solutions, one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, has furthered its commitment to 3D printing technology by announcing a partnership with ArtSystems, distributors of the MakerBot suite of 3D devices in the UK and Ireland.

The partnership will see KYOCERA Document Solutions UK join forces with ArtSystems to offer customers the award-winning MakerBot 3D devices, including the MakerBot Replicator Mini+, the MakerBot Replicator+ and the MakerBot Replicator Z18.

The devices rely upon fused deposition modelling (FDM) technology, using the innovative Smart Extruder +, which minimises downtime by pausing the device once the printer runs out of filament. Built with ease of use and simplicity in mind, the devices are factory levelled and; plug and play’ without the need for any manual calibrations during setup.

MakerBot printers are Wi-Fi and cloud enabled and fitted with on-board webcams, allowing printing progress to be remotely monitored and shared from any location. For educational establishments, this enables pupils and teachers to view inside the printer without compromising their safety. The new MakerBot Replicator Mini+ is also 58% quieter than its predecessor, resulting in a more productive working environment.

Trevor Maloney, Product Marketing Manager at KYOCERA Document Solutions UK said: ‘We’re excited to partner with ArtSystems and boost our portfolio with the addition of the world’s leading brand of desktop 3D printers. We’re seeing schools, colleges and universities in particular increasingly investing in 3D technology in order to improve students’ learning. The MakerBot devices are ideal for this environment, as they are built with safety front of mind as well as coming complete with the MakerBot 3D printing platform’s design community for discovering, printing and sharing free 3D models.’

Will Glass, 3D Product Specialist at ArtSystems said: ‘We’re delighted KYOCERA Document Solutions has chosen us as a strategic partner. This partnership is a great opportunity for us to bring the benefits of the innovative MakerBot range to KYOCERA's partners and users. We see a very clear fit between us and KYOCERA, as a company with strong environmental and customer centric values that closely match our own. We hope this will be the start of a long and mutually beneficial relationship.’
